ABACUS - OBC

ABACUS is an OBC (On-Board Computer) subsystem with a general-purpose hardware platform, suited for a wide range of satellite and CubeSat missions. It is designed to be flexible and scalable in terms of processing power, with the goal of maintaining a very low power consumption.

The two cores offer many modalities to be implemented (e.g. Master/Slave or multi-Master) and the FPGA offers all the advantages of the RTL coding, for implementing specific tasks (e.g. attitude control) or generic systems also with IP cores of third parts.

With the FPGA, high reliability may be achieved using TMR (triple modular redundancy) configuration codes. Several embedded sensors provide health monitoring and attitude control data. The system design offers the possibility to reconfigure the FPGA code and the MCU firmware in flight.

It reached more than six years of continuous flight heritage on UniSat-6, Tigrisat, and UNISAT-7

GAUSS RADIO UHF – 5W

The High Power GAUSS Radio UHF 5W has been designed keeping in mind its high output power and low mass and envelope. This radio is able to output up to 5W of power with a 45% efficiency.

The uplink and downlink are totally independent, meaning that they can be configured with different frequencies, modulations and protocols. The radio can be reconfigured via software, changing dynamically also the output power.

Thanks to its dimensions, two radios can be stacked on the same PCB/104 using them in parallel or for redundancy.

Together with the radio, an adapter board for testing and a computer software interface are included.

GAUSS Mini Ground Dongle

GAUSS Mini Ground Dongle is a USB low power board to simulate your ground station safely on laboratory conditions.

The USB dongle integrates both a low power UHF transceiver and a TNC, thus miniaturizing common ground station rack systems.

It was designed to have an easy access to TT&C testing during final verifications and pre-integration periods but it can also be used on your ground station if an external power amplifier is added.

It is fully compatible with the GAUSS UHF Radio. The dongle comes with multi-platform software, therefore it can be used with any PC/Mac available at your lab. A special bundle includes both the Radio and the Mini Ground Dongle, for a quick system deployment.

CUBESAT DEPLOYER GPOD

The GAUSS CubeSat Deployer "GPOD" was developed by GAUSS to provide a flexible deploying option for the most famous type of small satellites – the CubeSat.

The system is designed to be installed onboard a rocket or a satellite; it is the preferred deploying mechanism for launching satellites in a GAUSS UniSat mission.

The GPOD is available in 1U, 2U, 3U, 3U+ and customized versions. The triple unit (3U) GPOD may be used both for dedicated 3U CubeSat launches and shared CubeSat launches consisting of a combination of smaller-sized CubeSats. Example combinations are:
